Ecclesiastes 1:1 The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem:

2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
    says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
    Everything is meaningless.”

3 What do people gain from all their labors
    at which they toil under the sun?

8 All things are wearisome,
    more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
    nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
    what has been done will be done again;
    there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
    “Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
    it was here before our time.

14 I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

  • Earthly things cannot cure our
  • We have to look to God who is above (not under the sun).

2) Revive interest in the Bible.

  • Oops, cure boredom with boredom?
  • The Bible is NOT boring, but we are not curious enough, our sinful disinterest makes us think it is boring.
  • Amazing book: Easy enough for kids, yet intriguing enough for the wise, and has the power to transform lives.

3) Have a thankful heart.

  • Col 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  • <Lam 3:23>: God’s mercies are new every morning.
  • Learn to enjoy God in very ordinary day-to-day life.

4) Lively and dynamic fellowship with God.
