Unveiled: Boldness and Freedom in Christ

Unveiled: Boldness and Freedom in Christ

Audio Player:

In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul shows us the breathtaking contrast between the old covenant and the new. The old covenant—written on stone—was glorious, yet it brought death, revealed sin, and could only condemn. Its glory was real but fading. The new covenant, written by the Spirit on human hearts, is surpassingly greater: it gives life, brings righteousness, and lasts forever.

Because of this new covenant, we have a hope that makes us bold. Moses veiled his face to hide a glory that was passing away, but in Christ the veil is removed. We no longer approach God with fear or uncertainty. We behold His glory with confidence—because His presence goes with us, His Spirit gives us life, and His grace makes us righteous.

As we look to Christ, we are “transformed with ever-increasing glory.” True transformation does not come from outward effort or law-keeping, but from beholding the Lord and letting His Spirit reshape our hearts.

In Christ:
Our past is covered—He has given us a new and better covenant.
Our present is hopeful—He removes the veil so we can see His glory clearly.
Our future is secure—He promises ongoing transformation until we reflect His image.

Next steps for the believer:

  • Renounce old-covenant thinking rooted in self-effort and guilt.
  • Walk in boldness that is kind, humble, and grounded in the gospel.
  • Continually contemplate Christ’s glory, trusting the Spirit to transform you.

May we be a people who live unveiled—bold, free, and radiant with the glory of Christ.
