Seeking Back The Initial Love For God

It seems that there is a phenomenon among many believers that as we know the Lord longer, we may also gradually grow cold in our love for the Lord and leading a life by faith. How then can we seek back that initial love, thirst and intimacy with the Lord?
Guard Against “Distancing” From God

COVID social distancing may have taken a toll on some people, as they cannot enjoy the same amount of human touch like before. Thankfully, though human closeness can be insecure due to human or situational factors, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Yet, we see some people drift from God intentionally or unintentionally. The truth is, we are not safe being apart from God. If we are only following God at a distance, we will not enjoy the best of His presence. Especially during a pandemic crisis when we need God more, pray that we guard against distancing ourselves from Him.
“Forgetting What Is Behind And Strain Forward”

Now, our past has a kind of hold on us. Our past carries with it a chart of our experiences in life, our choices, our successes and even our mistakes. Because of this, it can bring about a lot of after effects, because these memories or feelings may stay with us or affect certain perspectives we have on present or future things. However, God has much in store for us in our present and our future. So let us keep in close communion with the Lord, and instead of dwelling in matters of the past, move ahead with faith and conviction of God’s enabling power.
Do Not Let COVID-19 Dominate Our Lives

Recently, we have been hearing the world telling us that we need to learn to live with COVID-19, as it does not seem to be going away anytime soon. So how does learning to live with the virus look like? Importantly, though COVID-19 may remain with humankind, it must not dominate our lives, God must! Instead of revolving our lives around COVID-19, we have to centre our lives on God. The impact of COVID-19 may be real, but the presence and power of God should impact us more than COVID-19. If even the world knows it should not be dominated by COVID-19, so all the more the church should pray that God help us rise above it.
The Revelation Of Our Faith- Our Relationships
Men’s emotions or thinking are always fluctuating. And in this COVID season, many weak sides of people will surface. However, we must receive strength, comfort and wisdom from the gospel to relook at the relationships God has given us. Let us examine our own faith as we peep through the looking glass of our relationships with others.
Physical Worship During COVID Heightened Alert
Many believers struggled with the differences arising from meeting physically during this COVID heightened period. Sometimes, a family belonging to different churches can hold opposing views toward physical corporate worship. So, to meet or not to meet? How can we draw from biblical principles to resolve this dilemma?
Joy Even In The Valley Lows
Let us not drown out in our worries, weaknesses or failures, especially during this season, but turn to God and see what He wants us to shift our focus onto instead. When we keep putting ourselves off, and letting God lead us with His word instead, we will learn that in whatever valleys we are faced, we can paradoxically remain in joy and contentment of His love and assurance.
The End Of A Marriage
Of late, “amicable divorce” has been introduced by our government agency to minimize the blame towards any party in a broken marriage. Indeed, the modern era has seen more marital complications arising, and as a result, people are claiming their rights to divorce legitimately. Yet, how does the Bible instruct us on matters of marriage and divorce? Are there situation where divorce can be biblically justified?
Facing Our Selfish Nature
Our selfish nature is a hard enemy to fight, because it is within us and comes by so easily. But in Colossians 1:29 it says, “For this I toil, struggling with all His energy that He powerfully works in me.” Certainly, we are not able to do it or sustain it on our own. But that is precisely why Jesus is our portion, giving us strength to keep going against those selfish tendencies. As we draw near to Him as a source of healing, hope and power, He will surely help us through this journey.
The Marital Intimacy We Need
God said: It is “NOT GOOD” for man to be alone. With that, we know that God has created man with an inherent need for companionship. Yet, when that companionship was sought after without the commitment of a marriage, men deviates further from the satisfaction of it. Find out what a God-ordained marriage is all about.
